The Official Launch of TayaIT Arabic Web Search

Aug 6th ... the day me and the rest of the company anticipate ... its the day where our Arabic web search engine is finally launched and our marketing and publicity for it commences :)

It's 5 days away from that day and I am excited as never before ... it'll be my 1st project that I've worked on and project managed in a big company like Taya and for it to go live with this type of propaganda :)

This will be the 1st milestone of my career in developing into the direction that I've always planned for ... and that I'd like to thank some people for standing there for me and being supportive which are:

Salman Suhail - for working side by side with me in getting thru all the obsticles we faced in making this happen... dude we did it man :) we should be damn proud of ourselves and know that we can do anything we want no matter what life/work throws in our path ;)

Farzina Alam - for being the my support whenever I feel that things are starting to get to me because of work ... thanks for putting up with me :) ... u've done soo much without u not even knowing :)

Heba Zaghloul - for being the cooperative intern under me ... heba if it wasn't for u things wud've been done later than expected ... wish we can work together sometime soon :)... will be missin ya when u leave.

And everyone else who has been supportive and giving me feedback on the beta versions so far :) ... I really appreciate it.

For those who didn't see the work that we've done so far go to http://beta.tayait.com and if anyone has any feedback before launch please don't hesitate :)

My Trip to hurghada

last month me and my friends went on a trip to hurghada, it was amazing, I arrived like about 10ish on a thursday night and met up with mody and zine, and mehmet... they had already organized a place for all of us to stay together and I was really looking forward for the next day.
the next day we had to wake up early in the morning because we were going to one hell of a nice diving experience with this diving center called "AQUARIOUS it was awesome... not that great scenery as you would expect for a frequent diver but as a 1st timer - it was awesome, we spent the whole day on the yacht and had fun all day, ended up at the end of the day going to this place called havana which was really nice ... tasty drinks and good music playing around.

on our last day we decided that we wanted to take a swim in the sea and chill on the beach all day... so while we're walking on the beach line we spotted this amazing place called hedkandi ... which was a beach bar ... after 10mins of being there we decided me and zine to postpone our tickets to 12am cuz the place was just impossible to leave ... and we ended up staying for the whole day ... from morning to night ... chylled in the sun all day and at night chylling to the groove thats playing and having dinner in the most chylled out places that I've been here in Egypt.

it was a gr8 vacation... and I can't wait to go back ... next time though I'm staying in a hotel & getting certified as an open water diver !!

Crazy Arab Men beatboxing and singing to shakira!!

A weekend very needed!

Ahhhhhh, I think I really deserved this weekend after one hell of a hectic week, it started with Soad's BEAUTIFUL wedding at the Intercontinental hotel "Semiramis" on Thursday, the environment was amazing, the bride was stunning, my Jaan was looking good as always, and everyone was in their best outfits... a very pimping night if I would say.

On Friday we were supposed to go to the Mohamed Ali club for a swim but unfortunately due to the events of the night before we had to sleep in till like 3pm :D, so instead we ended up doing laundry, later on I met up with Sagar and had a couple of drinks with him, Carlos and Daniel at Horeyya and ended up in the end going to Sarah's place to catch up with my flatties, had some ice cream "yummy" and ended up going home that night like around 4am.

Yesterday was the day of my weekend, didn't really do that much during the day except passing by the old trainee villa checking it out with Zine to see if it was free or not ... unfortunately it's not, we're kinda considering taking it for everyone over here where Me, Harrison, Zine, Sarah, Liisi, Hammady probably, and whoever else who wants to join ... it's a massive place and there was gonna be enough room for everyone :).
Later on me, Carlos and Harry meet up with Sagar to go for a movie ... we went for Fantastic 4 the rise of the silver surfer ... my personal advice for all of you out there ... it's not worth the money in the theater ... leech it from a torrent site and watch it on a 17" computer screen with a 4.1 speaker system will do you wonders in that movie.

And Finally came back home to take my Jaan out, got her some roses and came back home, if you could've seen the happiness in her eyes when she saw the flowers ... it was one of the best moments I had with her to make her as happy as I made her last night. we were supposed to go to seqouia but it was overbooked and I hadn't done any reservations, so instead we decided to walk for a bit and see if we can find Bora Bora near by but that didn't work out, and finally we decided to go for chinese at the Nile Dragon, the meal was amazing and she was very satisfied as I was from that meal, she was looking very pretty that night and I was so happy taking her out since it's been a while since we both went out for dinner in style. I should plan this more often, and think of making it more interesting as we go :).

Pictures of the wedding and some stuff of this weekend will be on Facebook and I'll bring some over here as well later on.

Funny Encounters

Tahrir Square, one of the most crowded squares on all of cairo ... I was standing there infront of Hardee's waiting for someone, as usual I just came back from work and I was wearing my favorite white t-shirt that had "Colombia en passion" , while waiting there 2 random foreigners start staring at me ... the funny thing is was that I was starting at the girl's legs cuz they were the nastiest legs I've ever seen ... and once they pass me and am still looking, both of them come up to me and start blabbering in spanish asking if i was from Colombia cuz of the T-shirt and the way I look, I was freaked out to start with cuz i thought they were gonna come bitching at me cuz of the way I was staring at them'hehe' ... it was just too much and I couldn't stop looking :P

it's cool how ppl said once to me that i can totally blend in as a Colombian ... and yday just proved to me that they were right ... I can blend in as a Colombian ... only if I work on my Spanish accent :)
